CAN ANYONE BUILD A POND?
Perhaps in your research, you've seen the ads for pond kits? Just mix a weekend, some simple steps, a couple of friends, and a six pack... and Presto! A water garden to kill for! Take a moment to see the ponds below, actually done by homeowners or landscape companies who claimed to be pond builders. Designing and creating a beautiful pond is a LOT more than a hole with rocks and water in it.
Keep in mind: It costs MORE to fix a poor design and workmanship than it does to properly construct a natural attractive waterfeature.

Truly, my best advice is:
Do not try to build a pond "on the cheap."
Inexpensive components just do not deliver what a true professional pond builder can design and install. Swimming pool components/filters do NOT work long term. A pond is a living eco-system. Its construction and set up are not learned from a 15-minute video. Designed and built right, it will give you years of enjoyment. Built improperly, it will be a swampy nightmare.
